verizon open innovation
The strategic team from Verizon Open Innovation Labs contracted Jack Morton to create a landing page that would help recruit new and emerging talent in the telecommunications industry. The site was geared toward engineers and developers pursuing Master's and Doctoral degrees from elite institutions.
Our team consisted of a lead strategist, creative director, myself (creative technologist) and a junior visual designer. My role in the project was to provide UX wireframes, technical feedback, and front-end and CMS development.
Emblem Health
Emblem Health, one of the U.S.'s largest nonprofit health insurance providers, came to Jack Morton looking for a simple but effective way to create and sustain community based on health and wellness. We proposed that the company create a blog that would highlight community leaders, local issues, and tips for healthy living.
For this project, I worked with a lean but mean team consisting of a project manager, creative director, and strategist. From ideation to production, I played several roles in bringing this project to life. As creative technologist, I made recommendations on CMS platforms, UX wireframes, and front-end development. I also coordinated with back end developers and external vendors to create a cohesive experience.
Google Fiber / Create your world
Google Fiber approached Jack Morton with the goal of using their Fiber spaces to create and foster local communities in their pilot cities. They hoped to reach girls, aged 10-13, and introduce them to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) through workshops and events. We created short engaging workshops that coupled education, pop culture, and DIY technology. The workshops were organized around issues that they felt passionate about: activism, music, and animation. In the workshops, the girls made their own stop motion animations, musical instruments that interfaced with their computers, and political dioramas that they could share with their friends on social media.
For this project, I created and designed workshop curriculum, participated on the ideation process, researched and implemented technology, and helped create technical guides for the workshop facilitators.
